NEW YORK — CC Sabathia’s many innings on the mound for the Yankees have been accompanied by a constant positive presence, with his wife, Amber, always cheering from the crowd. As Sunday’s New York City Marathon approaches, their roles are about to reverse.

The truth can now be told. Months ago, Amber (wife of CC) Sabathia decided she was going to run the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon to raise money for the Sabathia’s PitCCh In Foundation. Amber Sabathia was not remotely a runner at the time.
